Author's Note: I asked Laysan to write a short story to go in the novel I am working on. She asked me to post it for her as a standalone work. I will relate any feedback the story receives back to her and report her replies (appropriately filtered).

Laysan suggests to follow this story by watching the following youtube video entitled “Safe Inside”.

I am not the artist of the video. Nor do I know the artist. Laysan simply suggests that it feels the same as her mood when she wrote the story.
